2 day 1 night Similan Islands liveaboard

There are many liveaboards exclusively for scuba divers at the Similan Islands, most of them are not suitable to snorkelers.
MV Koon offers an option for snorkelers, or people who want to do a few scuba dives but also want to snorkel and see the islands. Ideal for less experienced divers, or dive/non dive couples.
Operated by Andaman Seastar, you basically join the speedboat day trip for the morning of day 1, then at midday move to the liveaboard boat until midday on day 2, when you return to the mainland with the day trip speedboat.
The boat is simple and clean. There are just 7 cabins (so book early) with bunk beds. Cabins have AC. Bathrooms are shared. The food served on board is delicious and plentiful.
The price includes a dive guide, dive equipment, Similan national park fees and diver permits, all meals and transfers from most Phuket hotels.

Trips run daily from late October to early May (the Similan Islands national park is closed from 15 May to 15 October).
You will be picked up from your Phuket hotel at around 5,20-6.30 hrs (depending on hotel location) and transferred by air con minibus to the pier at Thaplamu Khao Lak. Then a speedboat will take you to the Similan Islands (approx 70 mins ride) where you will join the overnight boat.

- Twin share (bunk bed) cabin: 13,500 baht per diver* / 9,900 baht per non diver
- Single occupancy: 15,500 baht per diver / 11,900 baht per non diver
- Extra night add 10,000 baht per diver / 7,000 baht per non diver
Price includes: All meals, accommodation in twin share cabins, round trip transfers from Phuket hotels (in zone) and central Khao Lak hotels, national park fees, scuba equipment, dive guide.
Not included: dive computer (optional extra), transfers from outside areas, private addresses and airbnb’s.
Note: This tour is not suitable for infants, pregnant women or people over the age of 70.
*Divers must be at least open water certified.
Cancellations:
In the event of cancellation by you the following charges apply:
– 30 days prior to the package or tour date: 30% of total price
– Within 30 days of the package or tour date, or no show: 100% of total price.
Weather Policy: This is an all weather tour and still runs if it is raining in the morning. The tour will be cancelled if the forecast is for rough sea unsafe for small boats. The decision to cancel is made on the morning of the tour by the boat captain and the harbour master, not the passengers. If a trip is cancelled because of bad weather you can reschedule to the next available day. If you cannot reschedule you will be refunded in full.

The bathroom is shared – are there dedicated shared bathrooms so we could have our own between the two cabins (4 of us) or are they shared with the whole boat?
