Koh Haa

Koh Rok snorkeling tour

Day trip by speedboat from Phuket

Koh Rok

Koh Rok and Koh Haa have some of the most pristine corals in Thailand. Reefs come close the surface and the water is very clear. The big plus about these islands is that they are visited by so few boats. No other boats run day trips from Phuket, just a few boats visit from Koh Lanta. Previously these islands where just a quiet anchorage for cruising yachts but now you can visit in a day from Phuket, it takes about 90 minutes to get there by speedboat.

The speedboat takes a maximum of 30 passengers.

Schedule & Itinerary

Schedule

November to April. Subject to demand.

A minimum of 15 passengers are required to operate this tour.

The best months for this tour are January-April when the sea is flat, because the journey to Koh Rok is quite far.

Itinerary

5.00-6.00 am: Pick up from your Phuket hotel and transfer to Royal Phuket Marina

7.00 am: Depart to Koh Rok by speedboat

It takes around 90 minutes to get to the Rok Islands. The journey there is split with a stop for a 10 minute swim at Phi Phi Ley Island, normally at Piley Cove (a stunning emerald lagoon) if the tide will allow.

The morning until lunch is spent swimming and relaxing on the powder white beach at Koh Rok Nai, there is a one hour snorkeling session on Clown fish reef between Koh Rok Nai and Koh Rok Nok (inner and outer Rok Islands). The reef offers colourful corals, crystal clear underwater visibility and the chance to find Nemo.

Lunch is a freshly cooked buffet served by the beach at the national park ranger station. You’ll have some time to explore the island looking for monitor lizards and crabs. Some of the Banyan trees are a thousand years old.

After the lunch break the speedboat moves to Koh Haa (5 islands) for another snorkeling session (about 40 minutes).
Departure from Koh Haa is at about 3.00 pm, arriving at the Royal Phuket Marina at about 5.00 pm and then transfer back to your hotel.

    1. Hi

Was thinking of doing the Koh Rok snorkeling tour on the 30th of November for my brother (16) and I (23). Would the trip be available at this date, unless there is a another less busy date that you recommend? We would be paying in cash and are staying at the Maikhao Dream Villa Resort & Spa Phuket.

      Regards

      William

      1. Hi William, 30 Nov is not available but 1st Dec is. The price is 4,500/person, pick up at Maikhao Dream Villa Resort & Spa Phuket will be at about 6.15 am. We need payment in advance to confirm a booking. If you can do Dec 1st I will email you booking/payment instructions. Thanks, Paul

    2. Hi what im going to request is very specific, hope you can help me.

I would like to go to Koh rok on January 7th, but i would like to stay for a night (rent a tent to rangers) and then the next day, return to phuket.

Is it possible to book JUST the speedboat from phuket to koh rok the 7th and then return with you guys again to phuket on January 8th?

I have my own snorkel, and im planning to bring my own food, so it would be just the transfer.

      Thanks in advance

      Joaquin

        1. How can I arrange to. Book? Forecast says it will be raining still on? Any other good snorkel tour for tomorrow from. Phuket ? Rather no Phiphi as will stay there next week

    3. Hi

Is this trip available for either Friday, 10 March, or Saturday, 11 March? I am looking to potentially book for two people.

      Many thanks
      Bartek

        1. Do you require a minimum amount of bookings for the trip to take place? I would like to book a guaranteed trip in advance, as we are in Phuket only for 3 days, so I do not have much flexibility.

          1. Hi Bartek, 15 passengers are needed to confirm and I can’t guarantee that it will run, in fact I think it won’t run. Surin Islands and Similan Islands day trips are available and will be running.

    4. Hi, would like to ask the availability of this trip on 15 april 2017.we have 8people.How could we make the payment?

      1. Hi Chia, 15th April is available for Koh Rok. If you would like to book I will email to booking form to you with payment instructions to confirm your booking. You can pay securely online with credit card, by paypal, or by bank transfer/deposit.

    5. Me and my wife plan to visit Phuket or Bali for a week week on our way to Perth in July. Which would be the best place near Phuket for snorkeling, or would Bali be a better choice ?

    6. We have 2 adults and 2 kids 9 and 7 and would like to reserve for Sunday 2 April. Please email us.
      Thank you.

    7. Hello,
Hope you are well. Me and my husband are planning our first Thailand trip in Dec. We will be in Phuket from Dec26th to Jan 2nd. We love snorkeling but are trying to avoid the touristy snorkeling sites and islands.
Can you please advise what options do we have from your tour? We are looking for tour with small group or customized trip, good spots for snorkeling and avoid touristy locations.
      Please advise.
      Thanks,
      Bhakti

      1. Hi, Phuket, a world famous tourist destination that gets millions of visitors per year. You are coming at the busiest period in the season, so you can’t really expect to avoid other tourists.
We do have some customized tours that are better for avoiding crowds:
