Krabi Tiger cave temple
Krabi tiger cave temple can be reached from AoNang or Krabi town by taking a local taxi or by as part of a day tour that includes the hot springs. The tiger cave itself is decidedly underwhelming, there is not a real tiger there, just a statue of where a tiger once resided. But the area is worth a couple of hours of your time if you like a bit of exercise. There is a looping jungle trail reached after a short up and down climb (watch out for the thieving monkeys).
There is also a far more challenging climb to the shrine on the top of the mountain. It’s 1,237 steps to the summit. The views are well worth the effort. You really get an overview of Krabi province with the ocean in one direction, mountains in the other and miles of rubber plantations in another.
