Sunset dinner cruise Phuket
Update June 2015. This tour is no longer running. We recommend this alternative:
This half day program is more than just a sunset cruise. Starting at around 4.00 pm the boat first stops at some pretty islands off the south coast of Phuket for swimming and relaxation. Then the boat slowly cruises between the islands off the south west coast of Phuket for sunset.
What is unique about this cruise is that guest numbers are limited to 10 (12 with young kids). It’s a whole different philosophy to the pile ’em high sunset cruise tours. This is a relaxing afternoon and evening on the water and is a great way to see Phuket island from a different perspective. Restricting guest numbers allows us to offer more personalized service and it also reduces time waiting for transfers. Departing in the late afternoon means that we avoid all the other crowds, their boats are all returning as we depart.
This tour will suit small groups, couples and families. It’s also ideal for people arriving in Phuket in the morning, too late to join a day tour.
1530-16.30 hrs: Pick up at your hotel and transfer to the boat in Chalong Bay
1700 hrs: Depart Chalong bay and cruise south west to Koh Kaew Yai.
Koh Kaew Yai is tiny island with a small but much revered Buddhist shrine on it. The Buddha faces back towards Phuket and is cared for by a few monks who lead a very simple life on the island. We spend some time here to swim and snorkel in the bay (snorkeling equipment and towels are provided) then we head to Koh Hae.
Koh Hae is better known as Coral Island and we take a break here to swim and snorkel. Coral Island is full of tourists during the day but most have left when we arrive.
Back on the boat it’s nearly time for dinner. There are fresh water showers and four bathrooms so that guests can freshen up before dinner. Dinner is served as we slowly cruise around Koh Lon. The set menu changes every day and is fresh cooked on board. Dinner is served at the table (it’s not a cold buffet). All drinks are included in the price including wine and local beers.
The sun sets in Phuket at 18.30-19.00 hrs. The boat returns to Chalong bay at around 20.30 hrs and you will be back at your hotel by 21.00-21.30 hrs.
