Racha Noi tour
Three Islands discovery tour
New for this season is the Koh Racha Noi tour that also includes Koh Racha Yai and Koh Hey (Coral Island).
Koh Racha Noi is an uninhabited island south of Phuket. Previously all day trip speedboats stopped at Racha Yai (big Racha) but now a few boats are going further south to Racha Noi (small Racha) to get away from the crowds.
This 3 isles tour also visits Racha Yai (before the other boats) and Coral Island (the quieter beach).
It’s a low volume operation that offers a bit more quality than the average day trip. The modern speedboat takes 30 passengers comfortably, the fixed awning is high enough that you can stand up inside. The guides are professional, friendly and helpful.
07.00 – 08.00: Pick up from your Phuket hotel and transfer to Chalong bay.
08.30 – 10.00: The speedboat departs from the small Chalong pier (less crowded at 9.30 am and takes about 30 minutes to get to the first snorkeling spot at Racha Yai Island. You’ll be at Racha Yai about 30 minutes before most boats arrive and you’ll stay for about 30 minutes before moving on to Racha Noi.
10.30 – 12.00: It takes about 30 minutes to get from Racha Yai to Racha Noi, arriving at about 10.30 am. There is a 20 minute snorkeling session in Banana bay then the boat heads to the empty beach where you can relax and swim. Water and soft drinks are provided for refreshment.
12.00-13.00: Depart Racha Noi and head to Coral Island. The journey takes about one hour.
13.00-15.30 hrs: Koh Hey (commonly called Coral Island) is close to Phuket. It’s incredibly popular with day trippers but they mostly go to the same beach so this tour goes to a different beach called Banana beach. It’s the best beach on the island where the rain forest meets the reef. In the trees you can see Hornbills (they normally come down from the jungle at about 3 pm) and in the bay you can snorkel with schools of fish. Lunch is served at the stylish restaurant on the beach. Deck chairs are provided for those who just want to relax. If you are feeling adventurous you can try parasailing or scuba diving (these activities cost extra, your guide will explain them to you). There are also some clear kayaks available to use free of charge.
15.30-15.45: From Koh Hey it’s a short hop back to Chalong pier where you are transferred back to your hotel.
