Discover Scuba Koh Samui

If you have no experience of scuba diving but want to give it a try then the Discover Scuba Koh Samui day trip is the way to go. It is sometimes called a DSD, a try dive or an intro dive. It’s open to anyone over 10 years of age with average fitness.

The Discover Scuba Diving program  is an experience program, there is no certification at the end of it. Many people enjoy it so much that they go on to get fully certified at a later date.

A PADI dive instructor will show you the basics then guide you over a shallow reef. It’s an amazing experience to breath underwater for the first time. Some people love it, others get scared silly, but you never forget your first time 🙂

If you would like to start in the pool you can spend a couple of hours with an instructor in the pool on the first day, then go out on the boat for 2 dives on the following day. Doing the pool session first gives you more confidence on the second day and many people report that they are more relaxed on their dives having practiced in the pool the previous day.

Discover SCUBA Diving pre-requisites: To participate in a Discover SCUBA program you must be at least 10 years old. You must not be flying in any aircraft within 24 hours of SCUBA diving. You must not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. You must read and complete the PADI medical statement.

Want to get fully dive certified? You can do the PADI Open Water course which certifies you to dive anywhere in the World. The course takes 4 days and includes one day in a classroom, one day pool training and two days of diving (4 dives).
